FAQ:

Q: What are the benefits of contrast therapy?

A: Contrast therapy (moving between hot and cold) has a number ofproven benefits:

  • Improves breathing and recovery.
  • Supports cardiac function.
  • Eases muscle soreness and alleviates pain.
  • Supports hormonal balance.
  • Promotes weight loss and boosts metabolism.
  • Boosts immunity.
  • Enhances mental clarity and mood, and reduces stress.
  • Builds mental fortitude. 😉

Q: Is contrast therapy safe?

A: For most healthy individuals, yes! However, if you have any medical conditions like heart issues, high blood pressure, or if you’re pregnant, it’s always a good idea to check in with your healthcare provider before starting. While there are myriad physical and mental benefits to cold exposure, there are also inherent risks. We strongly encourage you to hydrate and replenish electrolytes 30+ minutes BEFORE your session if you’re planning to take advantage of the sauna - especially if you're working out beforehand.

Q: What should I wear / bring?

A: Bring a swim suit, towel(s), and warm, comfy clothes for after the event.

Q: Are there changing rooms?

A: We will have two changing tents available. Prior to your session, you are welcome to change into your desired outfit in our bathrooms and showers. For safety we ask that you please do not enter our building after your session unless you are completely dry.

Q: How hot and cold will the temperatures be?

A: Temperatures may vary, but expect 200 ℉ or more in the sauna, and anywhere between 40-50 ℉ in the cold plunge.

Q: Will this event happen rain or shine?

A: Yes! Unless we deem the weather to be unsafe, this event will be held rain or shine.

Q: What is the best way to maximize my sauna/cold plunge experience?

A: Take it slowly, ask questions, and listen to your body - especially if this is your first hot/cold experience! Here is what we suggest: 10-15 minutes in the sauna, 2-3 min break, up to 3-minutes in the cold plunge. Take a short break after the plunge to "reset," then repeat 2-3 times if desired.
