GAME READY - Performance Oriented Small Group Training

GAME READY SGT news

Athletes train differently than most people in a gym — and the results show it.  They're faster, more powerful, more coordinated, and they tend to stay healthier longer.

We often hear words like agility, power, speed, conditioning, plyometrics, but don't always know how to apply them to our workout routines.  This program will show you how.

Led by Chatham Works Personal Trainer Jason Cartwright - a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist — this 12-session Small Group program applies the principles of athletic performance training to help you boost your game.  Whether you're a team sport athlete, an avid tennis, pickleball, or golf junkie, or just a gym goer who wants to feel stronger and more capable, this program will challenge and change the way you move.

WHAT YOU'LL TRAIN:

★  Strength and joint stability: Stronger muscles support your joints, but joints need dedicated stability and mobility work to stay healthy and move well through a full range of motion.

★  Speed, power, and quickness:  The qualities that separate athletic performance from general fitness.  Training them intentionally makes you faster off the mark, more explosive in your movements, and more precise under fatigue — whether you're working on your first step on the court, your power off the tee, or your ability to sustain output deep into a match or game.

★  Sport-centric conditioning:  Cardio and conditioning are not the same thing.  Conditioning trains specific energy pathways to match the demands of the activities you care about.  If you're fading in the second set, this is the work that fixes it.

★  Neuromuscular efficiency:  Your brain's ability to recruit and fire muscles quickly and accurately.  Training this quality improves reaction time, coordination, and overall athletic performance.

Strength equip

Equipment you'll use will include ERGs (ski erg, bike erg, rowing), kettlebells and dumbbells, resistance bands, agility ladders, hurdles, slam balls, and battle ropes.

WHO THIS PROGRAM IS FOR:

This program is designed for athletes of (almost) all ages - from high school competitors to active adults.  What matters isn't your age; it's where you're starting from.

Participants should already be working out regularly or actively playing a sport, able to move freely without significant physical limitations, and in decent cardiovascular shape.

If you don't meet those criteria, are coming off an injury, or are new to structured exercise, this program isn't the right starting point — but we can help you find one that is.

(Minors who are 14+ years old and are serious about wanting to improve their athleticism can participate with parent/guardian waiver, but are politely reminded that this is training - not summer camp.)
