We are reopening for Indoor Fitness classes and workouts at 5:30AM on Tuesday, July 7th, to our Annual and Monthly members only.
Our (glowingly reviewed) Outdoor "Bootcamp" style Classes are still available by individual class, or by a 5-pack, and we expect to start offering additional Outdoor options soon, including Beach Yoga.
We're also offering Personal and Semi-Private Training within our facility by appointment only.
Phase 3 Indoor Fitness Reopening Policies
The state's Phase 3 reopening policies for Fitness are more restrictive than we (and many others in the industry) had expected. As a result, we are having to make numerous adjustments to comply with the requirements, and to make sure that our business can ride out this storm. Some of these policies might be short-lived. Others might become permanent. We will continue to read, react, and adjust as we feel is necessary.
We ask that everyone please respect the fact that dealing with all of these policies isn't fun for anyone, including us. But if we all stay smart and remain respectful of one another, hopefully we can return to a semblance of normalcy soon.
In the meantime, here's how it's going to be:
✓ Everyone* who enters the building must undergo a COVID-19 Screening process which will be performed by a staff member. When possible - we will be performing the screening process outside on our porch. (*People entering purely for Retail are not required to undergo screening.)
✓ All Indoor Fitness offerings - including Open Gym - now require advanced reservations. You can book via our Chatham Works app, our website, the MindBody app, or by calling us at 508-469-0123.
✓ Wear your mask at all times unless engaged in high intensity exercise.
✓ Maintain 6+ ft. social distancing at all times while wearing a mask, or 14 ft. without a mask.
✓ Wash/sanitize your hands well and often, including:
→ Upon arrival (ideally before entering the building)
→ As required during your class/workout
→ After your workout
→ After using the restroom (obviously!)
✓ Observe directional and distancing signage while inside the facility, and cooperate with Staff instructions regarding spacing and other safety considerations.
✓ Do not use equipment that is marked as unavailable for use.
✓ Be respectful of our staff and other members, and bear in mind that these are completely unprecedented - and less than ideal - circumstances for all of us.

Additional Policy Changes
Until further notice:
★ ALL of our Fitness offerings - including Open Gym sessions - now require a reservation. You can book via our app, our website, the MindBody app, or by calling us.
★ Open Gym may be booked by both Basic Gym and THE WORKS members in one hour increments. A “no show” or a Late Cancellation (less than 2 hours before your reservation) will be subject to a $10 fee.
★ All classes will be at significantly reduced capacities in order to comply with the state reopening requirements. Please note that we will be strictly enforcing cancellation policies, including “no show” fees.
★ All classes will be run on a “workout in your own space” basis, with no sharing of equipment unless and until it has been properly sterilized.
★ We will have 30 minute breaks between classes in all indoor class spaces to provide additional time for cleaning and ventilation.
★ Certain equipment will be temporarily unavailable, including mats, yoga bolsters, and yoga blankets.
★ Towel service will not be offered. Please bring your own towel and a small, clean, non-porous bag to store it in during your workout.
★ We will not be selling Five Packs or Class/Day/Week Passes until we are confident that we can do so and still adequately serve our Annual and Monthly Members.
★ Certain class types may be temporarily unavailable (including Spin).
★ THE WORKS members are asked to take no more than 15 Indoor Classes per calendar month, and to refrain from taking “back-to-back” or “two-a-days” (including any combination of Open Gym and/or Indoor Classes), other than in situations where there is an unfilled opening within 5 minutes of the start time of the requested Class/Open Gym session. We are doing this to help make sure that all members can fairly enjoy the benefits of their membership.
★ Showers are no temporarily unavailable.
★ We reserve the right to refuse entry and/or service to any person at any time. ★
Prior to Your Arrival
★ Please do not come if you aren’t certain that you can pass our COVID-19 Screening Process!
★ We also ask that you please stay home if you’re experiencing frequent coughing or sneezing due to allergies, as this could make others uncomfortable.
★ Please complete our revised online Waiver form.
★ Please use the restroom before you leave home to reduce the chance that you’ll need to use it here.
★ Please bring:
- Your mask
- A gym towel
- A mat (if appropriate for class)
- Your (clean) water bottle
- A small, non-porous bag to hold your towel and mask during your class/workout so you’re not placing a “used” item on the floor.
Arrival, Screening, & Check-In
★ Please plan on arriving 5-10 minutes prior to your class, but bear in mind that you may not wait in the front desk/lobby area.
★ Please be wearing your mask when you arrive, and sanitize your hands immediately - preferably prior to entering the building.
★ Everyone* who enters the building must undergo a COVID-19 Screening process which will be performed by a staff member. When possible - we will be performing the screening process outside on our porch at a kiosk. (*People entering purely for Retail are not required to undergo screening.)
★ Our COVID-19 Screening process includes:
- A temperature check using a no-touch thermometer. If the recorded temp is greater than 100.0 degrees, the person is not allowed on the premises.
- Answering the screening questions listed below. If you answer “YES” to any question, you will be denied entry and asked to immediately leave the premises.
- Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the last 2 weeks?
- Have you travelled outside of the US within the last 2 weeks?
- Have you recently experienced ANY of the following within the last 48 hours: cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, vomiting, or diarrhea?
★ Once you have passed screening, you will be checked in.
We are moving to a touchless check-in process. Once you have completed screening you may check-in yourself using our app, or be checked in by a staff member.
★ Once you are checked in, please proceed to your designated class/training area.
So to summarize:
- Arrive masked, and sanitize your hands immediately upon arrival.
- A staff member will screen you.
- Upon successful completion of the screening process you will be directed to your class/workout area.
During Your Class / Workout
At all times, please maintain awareness of your surroundings, your movements, and your breathing.
If you feel the need to remove your mask during high intensity exercise, please remain mindful of the distancing requirements, and be respectful of others in your vicinity. Move outside or to a more ventilated area as needed.
Have a clean, non-porous bag with you nearby to stash your towel/mask in between uses.
Please wash/sanitize your hands before your workout, as needed during it, and afterwards.
Please do your part by washing all equipment you’ve used after your workout, or - as needed - during the workout.
